Very Strong Sales Start Due to Soaring Demand in China

Key findings include:

• January 2010 sales were over 25% higher than sales for the comparable period in 2009
• Sales increased slightly in Europe (5.5%) and the Americas (8.0%) while sales soared overall in Asia (54%), with an overwhelming increase in China (109%)
• Sales volume in the Asia-Pacific region topped the combined sales in America and Europe for the first time in automotive history
